CHICAGO – I have never been a fan of bio-flicks; the unvarnished truth is always more interesting than Hollywood “fact-ion.” So I was doubly surprised during a recent screening of the new “Julie & Julia” movie. First, they got Julia Child’s story pretty much dead-on. Second, all the little gasps of surprise in the dark made me realize not everyone in America is familiar with the life of TV’s beloved “French Chef.” “How could anyone not ‘know’ Julia?” I thought.
